	me and 31 years yeah... not liking the sound of that too much. we went to dinner at coldwater tonight and then had cherry crumb pie at my parents' house. good times.

trip back to cali

this past thursday zada and i boarded a plane at 5:30 a.m. to fly out to california for a fun weekend with the carters. the trip was off to a rough start for zada with a screaming fit over her doll baby having to go through the xray machine in security... but once we did that it was smooth sailing. it was busy weekend of pools, carnivals, disney and birthdays - but really fun and zada had a blast and can't wait to go back. (in fact she asked if we could eat dinner at disneyland tonight.) and in case you are wondering.. yes... she DID scream bloody murder over her doll on the way home - however this time it was for the entire 35 minutes of us standing in line at 5 a.m. in LAX. let me tell you how much people LOVED ME!

tea for two

zada is always wanting to do "girlie things." last night she begged me to get dressed up with her and dance. she always wants me to wear sparkles and pink. she's just that kind of girl. lately i've been trying to focus more on the things that she loves, so that i understand her a little better.... cause SHEW - we are different.

anyway, today i decided to surprise her with a real tea for lunch. she came home from school and the table was set with her favorite things. flowers. salami sandwich. m & m's. chocolate cake. blueberries. etc.

immediately she screamed with excitement and ran up to her room to change into "a party dress!" then darted down to my closet to pick one out for me to wear.

i have to say it was so much fun. there we were, all dressed up. enjoying our lunch. no place to go, but we looked good at least. the best part was that she talked and talked to me about her day at school. she was like a little person... and every few minutes she would stop and say "mommy. thank you. i love you!" it makes the girlie things worth it. she's a precious little girl.

(oh yeah... she changed her shoes 7 times during this time. she's definitely like me in that way)
